“He was in ESU Truck 7 and he went into the buildings that morning,” Reali said, his voice shaking. “When my partner told me there was a job for 9/11, I was like, let’s just do it. We wanted to do it for my father‑in‑law who passed on 9/11.”

Principal Dr. Paul Guzzone highlighted the memorial’s role as a lasting promise to future generations. “It all boils down to the promise that was made 25 years ago and that is to never forget,” he said. Another, Maisie Stachlik, shared, “I feel super sad and emotional, because my dad went in there too, and I might not have been born, like I would have not been here today.” Madeline Odell added, “When they started calling up the families for the roses it was so emotional because you see people in the town dealing with this every day.”
