Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume has warned staff that the company may cut around 50,000 additional jobs to bring its costs in line with other companies.
Blume said in an internal memo that the company has a 20% cost disadvantage compared to comparable companies, which could lead to a “theoretical deduction” of another 50,000 jobs worldwide.
The company has already agreed to 50,000 job cuts across the group, including its Porsche and Audi subsidiaries.
