Vice President JD Vance Discusses Immigration on ‘The View’

Vice President JD Vance joined the women of ‘The View’ on Tuesday to discuss immigration and border security. Vance faced questioning from co-hosts Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin, who pressed him on the treatment of illegal immigrants in detention centers.

Enforcing Laws and Protecting Borders

Vance emphasized the need to strike a balance between enforcing laws and protecting the dignity of all individuals. ‘We have to enforce the border, or we invite cartels to engage in sex trafficking and other predatory activities,’ he said. Vance also noted that some individuals in detention centers have been found to have criminal records, including convictions for sex trafficking.

Hostin pushed back, arguing that many illegal immigrants are not criminals and that the detention centers are inhumane. Vance responded by saying that it is inhumane to allow cartels to engage in sex trafficking and that the administration is working to address the issue.

A Call for Conversation and Understanding

Vance also discussed the importance of having open and honest conversations about immigration and border security. ‘My job as vice president is not just to talk to people who agree with me, but to listen to those who disagree and try to find common ground,’ he said.
