Ventura County Sheriff’s Office detectives are urging residents of Thousand Oaks to come forward with any information about a violent assault that occurred early on the morning of Aug. 28 at the Oakview Apartment Homes complex, located in the 600 block of Hampshire Road.

What happened

At approximately 2:15 a.m., a security guard responded to a noise complaint near the complex’s pool area. After speaking with several people and asking them to keep the noise down, the guard heard shouting and saw a 25‑year‑old man being attacked near the pool and barbecue area. The victim was knocked to the ground and suffered punches, kicks and stomps from several assailants, leaving injuries to his head, face and body.

Police response

Detectives determined that the assault followed an exchange in which several people questioned the victim about contacting law enforcement regarding the earlier disturbance. Three Thousand Oaks men—Julio Trevino, 29; Adan Domingo, 30; and Ivan Domingo, 24—have been arrested and booked at the Pre‑Trial Detention Facility on suspicion of assault likely to produce great bodily injury, under Penal Code 245(a)(4).

Ongoing investigation

Authorities believe additional individuals may have been present during the attack. Detectives are specifically looking for anyone who was in the pool or barbecue area, saw the assault, observed people leaving the scene, or captured photos or video that could aid the investigation.
