The Vancouver Police Department has released a critical incident video from a May 26 officer-involved shooting during a response to an in-progress residential burglary in the 10900 block of Northeast 48th Street.
Incident Details
One Vancouver police officer discharged their firearm, and two Vancouver police officers witnessed the incident. The involved officer was placed on critical incident leave per standard protocol. All responding Vancouver police officers were wearing body-worn cameras.
The release of the critical incident video is at the discretion of the Chief of Police and is separate from the Washington State Office of Independent Investigations, who is investigating the shooting. The Vancouver Police Department will conduct an administrative investigation and review after the Office of Independent Investigations team has concluded their investigation.
