The Federal Electronic Health Record system will enable VA facilities nationwide to access a veteran’s medical history, making it easier for veterans to receive care when they move or travel.
Lawrence emphasized the importance of the new system, stating that it will eliminate the need for veterans to repeat their medical history. The Des Moines VA Medical Center is scheduled to begin using the new system next July.
