US Strikes Iran, Iran Fires Back

The United States launched a second round of airstrikes on Iran, with Iran responding by firing at Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. The US assault targeted Iranian military surveillance capabilities, communication systems, and air defense sites.

US Airstrikes on Iran

The US Central Command stated that the strikes were in response to Iran’s continued aggression and were carried out by the US Air Force, Marines, and Navy. Explosions from the strikes were heard in Iran’s capital, Tehran, as well as the port city of Bandar Abbas.

Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard reported that sites hit by the Americans included a manufacturing complex, a military barracks, and a local Guard base outside of Tehran. The US military did not elaborate on the damage done by the strikes.

Iran’s Response

Iran responded to the US airstrikes by firing at Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. Kuwait closed its airspace for several hours due to the attack, while Jordan reported intercepting 20 Iranian missiles fired towards an area hosting a US air base. Bahrain reported an 11-year-old girl being hurt and cars and homes damaged by falling debris from interceptions responding to the Iranian attack.

The conflict between the US and Iran has been ongoing, with both countries seeking a way to end the fighting. However, big disagreements remain, including the US demand for Iran to give up its stockpile of highly enriched uranium and Iran’s insistence on relief from sanctions.
