As the US Men’s National Team prepares to face Paraguay in the World Cup, midfielder Tyler Adams can’t help but celebrate the New York Knicks’ improbable win against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
A New York Native’s Joy
Adams, born in Poughkeepsie and raised in Wappinger Falls, has been a lifelong Knicks fan. He and his teammates were seen celebrating the Knicks’ win, with Adams jumping onto a sofa and over pillows in a moment of pure joy.
The USMNT is set to play in the World Cup on American soil, with the first match against Paraguay in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. Despite the high stakes, Adams is drawing inspiration from the Knicks’ underdog story.
"I mean, it’s pretty captivating," Adams said of the Knicks’ run. "Them being kind of the underdog coming out of the East and doing something special, as they’re doing right now? I mean, I take inspiration from that. But hey, I’m a New York Knicks fan."
