Key Provisions
The agreement includes several key provisions, including the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, the respect of each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the commitment to negotiating and achieving a final deal within 60 days. The US has also agreed to remove its naval blockade and disturbances against Iran, and to fully end the naval blockade within 30 days.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has agreed to make arrangements for the safe passage of commercial vessels, and to conduct dialog with the Sultanate of Oman to define the future administration and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz. The US has also undertaken to develop a definitive plan with regional partners for the reconstruction and economic development of Iran, with a minimum investment of $300 billion.
The agreement also addresses the issue of nuclear weapons, with the Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirming that it shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons. The US and Iran have agreed to resolve the disposition of stockpile enriched material, and to discuss the issue of enrichment and other mutually agreed matters related to Iran’s nuclear needs.
