Northbound lanes of US Highway 171 are closed again after the roadway experienced another heat-related buckle. The closure is just north of Abbington Road, which is north of Grand Cane. This is not the same location as the buckle that popped up Friday evening.
Southbound lanes remain open at this time. The state highway department has been notified and is en route to make repairs.
All lanes of the highway were closed for hours Friday because of a buckle south of Kickapoo. Seven vehicles were involved in a crash at the scene. Several drivers were taken to the hospital to be checked out for minor injuries. DOTD completed repairs early Saturday morning.
