The Department of War has launched an interactive public website to map billions of dollars in defense investments across the country. The Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Industrial Base Policy created the Investment Intelligence Center, which displays more than $6.7 billion in Defense Production Act and Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment expenditures made since 2015.
Investment Transparency
According to Assistant Secretary of War for Industrial Base Policy Hon. Mike Cadenazzi, the tool gives users a geographic and sector-based view of the spending through an interactive map, a Mekko chart, and a keyword portfolio search. Users can filter results by technology sector, year, location, and funding mechanism.
The office works with domestic and international partners to maintain a robust industrial base that supports the warfighter. The department announced the site to increase transparency for Congress, analysts, industry, and the general public.
