Urbandale voters will weigh in on a brand new police station this November. The city voted to add a $25 million bond referendum to the ballot, which would help pay for a $60 million facility with offices, garages, and training spaces.
New Police Station Details
The new station would be located at the corner of 100th Street and Douglas Avenue. According to the city, the current facility was built in 1982 and cannot meet the demand for a larger population.
The bond will need at least 60% approval to pass. The city says it will not raise the property tax rate. Public information meetings are scheduled, with dates and times listed on the city’s website.
