UofL outfielder Zion Rose was selected as the number six pick in the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft by the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.
Rose is the fourth highest pick in school history, following Henry Davis, Brendan McKay, and Corey Ray. Despite battling injuries this past season, Rose led the Cards with a .417 batting average, 13 doubles, six home runs, and drove in 47 runs in just 36 games. He was also named an All-American.
