United Airlines has introduced a new fleet of Airbus A321XLR aircraft with a special row in Economy Plus that features no middle seats. The middle seat in this row will be repurposed as a shared space with a large custom table.
More Space for Passengers
The new row will provide extra leg and elbow room for passengers, in addition to the three inches of additional legroom already offered in Economy Plus on the XLR. Each XLR aircraft will have one row with this feature.
The updated look will give customers on the window and aisle seats extra space to stretch out on longer international flights. The table is permanently fixed with a soft leather-like covering and two indentations for cups.
The new offering will be available for sale starting later in 2026. United’s Airbus A321XLR was designed to be the airline’s most premium narrowbody airplane, with 32 premium seats, including a new United Polaris Studio suite.
