Uniontown’s home‑grown tech firm TSI Touch is gaining national attention after providing the large touchscreen that powers CNN’s election “Magic Wall.” The 81‑by‑48‑inch display, which lets anchor John King zoom into precincts across the country, was designed, built, and installed by the local company.
From four employees to a thriving business
TSI Touch spun off from government contractor Trident Systems in 2011. President John Pryzbylinski, a former Trident vice president, launched the venture with just four workers. Aside from the pandemic years, the firm has added staff every year, now employing 57 people.
“We knew we had a good thing,” Pryzbylinski said, noting the company’s focus on cost‑effective, high‑quality products. About 85% of its revenue comes from touchscreen solutions ranging from handheld devices to massive video‑wall displays.
Products and reach
TSI Touch ships between 15,000 and 20,000 screens annually. Its installations are visible throughout the region—from the renovated Pittsburgh airport to West Virginia University’s campus—and extend worldwide, with projects in Singapore and a screen spotted at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
The firm also manufactures protective hardware, such as a glass‑retention bezel sturdy enough for Pryzbylinski to bounce a basketball off of it.
CNN partnership highlights local innovation
For several years, TSI Touch has supplied CNN with the Magic Wall touchscreen. “They came to us with a need we could meet,” Pryzbylinski explained. He praised CNN’s content team and John King’s preparation, saying the anchor’s mastery of the technology makes the coverage look seamless.
When the screen goes live, TSI Touch’s social media and phone lines surge with interest. “Other networks call us after seeing it,” Pryzbylinski added, describing the exposure as a “fun night” for the company.
Community impact
Employees celebrate each broadcast by sharing videos and texts, describing the moment as a collective triumph. The visibility of Uniontown’s technology on a national stage underscores the city’s growing reputation as a hub for innovative manufacturing and high‑tech jobs.
