Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy confirmed that Ukrainian drones struck an oil refinery in Russia’s Tyumen region, over 2,000 km from Ukraine.
Long-Range Drone Capabilities
Zelenskiy also announced that Ukraine has developed new long-range drones capable of operating over 3,000 km, which have been successfully deployed.
The Tyumen refinery, one of Russia’s most modern and complex, has a nominal capacity of around 8 million metric tons per year. The governor of Tyumen Region, Alexander Moor, reported that Russian air defenses repelled the drone attack, with no damage and staff evacuated.
