The Minnesota Twins are hosting the Philadelphia Phillies at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa. This is the third time a regular-season game has been played at the site, which was made famous by the 1989 movie of the same name.
A Permanent Ballpark
After playing at a temporary facility in 2021 and 2022, Major League Baseball has built a permanent 3,000-seat ballpark at the site. The ballpark will host a series of showcase events this summer, including the Twins-Phillies game.
The game is expected to attract a large crowd, with temporary bleachers added to increase seating to around 8,000 people. Fans will enter the complex through the quaint ballfield where the movie was filmed and walk through the corn toward the new ballpark.
A Unique Experience
The Field of Dreams site offers a unique experience for fans, with a blend of nostalgia and modern amenities. The site includes a full calendar of youth tournaments, as well as high school, college, minor league, and senior-level competitions.
Twins manager Derek Shelton has invited his father to come to Iowa for the game, which will feature a pregame ceremony and a chance for fans to connect with the game and with each other.
