Twin 5-year-old girls drowned in a backyard pool of a short-term rental home in Kissimmee, Florida, on Friday, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. The girls were visiting from Georgia with their family.

The girls were airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital around 11 a.m. after being found unconscious in the pool, but were pronounced deceased at the hospital. A 15-year-old was in charge of watching them while their parent went to the grocery store.

Detectives are investigating the incident and talking to family members. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office initially reported the children as boys, but later corrected the information.
