Twin Cities Fear Fest Returns to Mall of America with New Haunted Attractions

The Mall of America, Minnesota’s top tourist destination in Bloomington, is gearing up for its second annual Twin Cities Fear Fest. Running Sept. 25 through Nov. 1, the indoor Halloween event will transform Level 2 of the Southeast Court into a multi‑attraction haunt for families and adrenaline lovers alike.

What’s New This Year

Organizers have added three distinct haunted experiences:

  • Jason Universe: Survive the Night – an officially licensed attraction that pits guests against the iconic slasher Jason Voorhees in a maze of scares.
  • Dead City Uprising – an apocalyptic zombie scenario where the undead can pop out at any moment, delivering classic fright.
  • The Magic of Halloween – a family‑friendly zone featuring pumpkin displays, games and photo opportunities, designed for younger visitors.

In addition to the scares, the festival includes a hidden bar for adults and a Gellyball gun range, giving the venue a broader entertainment mix.

Tickets and Practical Details

Admission ranges from $20 to $27 depending on the chosen date. All attractions are located on Level 2 near the east parking ramp, making access straightforward for shoppers and visitors already inside the mall.

The Mall of America remains a year‑round hub with over 500 stores, 50+ dining options, Nickelodeon Universe, the LEGO Store, M&M World, a flight simulator, mini‑golf, a climbing zone and an aquarium. The addition of Twin Cities Fear Fest adds a seasonal draw that complements the mall’s existing family‑focused amenities.

Why It Matters to the Community

Beyond entertainment, the festival supports local businesses by increasing foot traffic during the fall season, a period that can be slower for retail. The event also offers a safe, indoor alternative for Halloween fun, especially valuable for families seeking controlled environments for their children.

Local officials have praised the partnership between the mall and the event organizers, noting that large‑scale attractions like Fear Fest help sustain Bloomington’s reputation as a regional tourism hub.

Plan Your Visit

Visitors should allow several hours to explore the haunted zones, especially on weekends when crowds peak. The mall’s extensive parking facilities and public‑transit connections make it easy to reach the venue from across the Twin Cities.

For the latest updates, ticket information and safety guidelines, check the official Mall of America website or the Twin Cities Fear Fest social‑media pages.
