Since its expansion in 2021, Tweed now offers nonstop service to 34 destinations throughout the country. According to Robert Reed, the chairman of the New Haven Airport Authority, “Reaching five million passengers reflects the growing demand for convenient, accessible air travel in Southern Connecticut.” The airport has also expanded its service with new nonstop destinations like Puerto Rico and Houston, giving travelers more options for business, leisure, and visiting family closer to home.

The accomplishment comes as the airport approaches its 95th anniversary. A new terminal is in development, and the airport continues to expand its service to more destinations. Governor Ned Lamont commented on the milestone, stating that it demonstrates how strategic transportation investments can drive economic growth while delivering practical convenience for Connecticut travelers.
