Montgomery residents can look forward to a bustling week of celebration as Tuskegee University launches Homecoming 102, billed as “A Renaissance Family Affair.” The university announced that thousands of alumni, current students and supporters are expected to return to the historic campus for a lineup of events running through Nov. 8.
In an interview with Action 8’s Estee Morrison, Dr. Rolundus Rice – the university’s Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Student Affairs – and student ambassador Madison Zoebisch explained why the tradition matters. They emphasized the importance of re‑uniting the Tuskegee community, reconnecting alumni with current students, and honoring the institution’s legacy of academic excellence and cultural impact.
The week‑long schedule includes a parade, a homecoming football game, concerts, a scholarship awards ceremony and a series of family‑friendly activities. Organizers also highlighted that several celebrity guests are slated to appear, adding extra excitement for attendees.
“Homecoming is a time when the Tuskegee family comes together to celebrate our shared history and look toward the future,” Dr. Rice said. Madison Zoebisch added that the event provides a unique opportunity for younger students to meet mentors and for alumni to support current programs.
For Montgomery families interested in attending, the university’s website offers a complete schedule of events and details on transportation and lodging options. The site also lists volunteer opportunities for community members who wish to assist with event logistics.
What’s next: The homecoming football game is set for Nov. 5, followed by a concert on Nov. 7. Residents can stay updated on any additional programming by checking the Tuskegee University homecoming webpage.
