The program, which has run for several years, will begin on July 6 and run through July 31. Participants can bring their school supplies to Tuscaloosa Municipal Court, located at 2122 Gary Fitts St. The city also runs a similar program each holiday season, allowing residents to donate toys to Toys for Tots in exchange for ticket forgiveness.
Tuscaloosa City Schools serves roughly two dozen schools across the district, and supplies collected through the program are distributed directly to students who need them. In 2025, the city’s sixth year running the drive, residents cleared 249 overtime tickets and donated more than 1,000 school supplies, an increase of over 300 items from the previous year.
