On October 7, the I Dream Big Charter School (IDB) in Tuscaloosa will launch its girls’ basketball season, and the school is asking the community to help the team get off to a winning start. Built around the values of “Dream, Believe, Prepare, and Achieve,” the program emphasizes that supporting young women in sports builds confidence, leadership, discipline and teamwork.
Donation drive details
Team Operations Coordinator April Anthony explained that the donation drive is meant to supply the essentials the players need to compete and represent their school with pride. “When you support our girls, you’re not just donating to a basketball team; you’re investing in their dreams, confidence, education, and future,” Anthony said.
Items requested include:

- Basketball shoes
- Gift cards
- Individual bottled water
- Individual bottled sports drinks
- Monetary donations
- Snacks
- Warm‑up uniforms
Donations can be dropped off at the I Dream Big Charter School, located at 3601 Stillman Blvd. on the Stillman College campus, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
