The City of Tuscaloosa is reminding residents about upcoming schedule changes as the community observes Juneteenth later this week. According to a press release, several city offices and services will operate on adjusted schedules beginning Thursday, June 18.
Office Hours
City Hall will close at 4 p.m. Thursday, while the Water Business Office lobby will close at 3:30 p.m. The Water Business Office drive-through will close at 4 p.m., and Tuscaloosa 311 will end operations for the day at 5 p.m.
On Friday, June 19, all of those offices will remain closed in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. However, the City said the popular Live at the Plaza event will still take place as scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. at Government Plaza.
Residents should note that garbage, trash and recycling collection routes will not be impacted by the holiday and will continue on their normal schedules.
The City of Tuscaloosa said all offices and services will return to their regular operating hours on Monday, June 22. Anyone with questions can contact Tuscaloosa 311 for additional information.
