President Donald Trump has endorsed Republican candidate Zach Lahn in Iowa’s upcoming governor’s race. Trump shared his endorsement on Truth Social, calling Lahn an “incredibly effective Voice for Iowa Agriculture, our amazing Farmers and Ranchers, and Making America Healthy Again!”
Lahn’s Campaign
Lahn emerged victorious from a group of five Republican candidates in last month’s June primary, which included U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra. Feenstra had initially earned Trump’s endorsement, but Trump later walked back his endorsement after finding out Lahn was “much more Trump than Randy.” Lahn will face Democrat Rob Sand and Libertarian Nicholas Gluba in November.
Trump’s endorsement praised Lahn as a “Sixth Generation Iowan, and a very successful Businessman” who knows the “AMERICA FIRST Policies required to Grow our Economy, Create GREAT Jobs, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., and Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE.” As a Family Farmer, Lahn is seen as an effective voice for Iowa’s agricultural community.
