A driver is recovering in the hospital after crashing into the side of a Mason home. The incident occurred along Parkside Drive off Cox-Smith Road. Mason police say the truck took down the chimney of the home and ripped off some siding.
The homeowner reported that no one was hurt inside, and the home is still livable despite the damage. The mother of the truck driver stated that he had fallen asleep at the wheel. Police say the driver sustained minor injuries, but the truck was heavily damaged.
Building inspectors will be out to check the home, along with a crash reconstruction team, to assess the damage and determine the cause of the accident.
