Trinity Metro Provides Free Rides for Early Voting and Election Day in Tarrant County

Trinity Metro announced a new “Let’s Ride to Vote!” program that will give Tarrant County residents free public‑transport rides for early voting from October 19 through October 30 and on Election Day, November 3. The initiative covers buses, TEXRail, Trinity Railway Express, on‑demand rideshare, paratransit and Trinity Metro Bikes, making it easier for families, seniors and faith‑based voters to reach polling locations.

How to Get a Free Pass

Early‑voting riders can enter the promo code VOTE26 in the GoPass app to receive a complimentary Trinity Metro Local Day Pass. The pass must be activated just before boarding. Those who prefer a paper ticket can request one at the Customer Service Kiosk in Fort Worth Central Station. Passes are issued individually, and each rider must request their own.

Service Details and Limits

The free fare applies to all regular routes within the agency’s service boundaries. For rail travelers, the fare covers trips between Fort Worth T&P Station and CentrePort/DFW Airport Station. On‑demand rides must stay inside the applicable service zone, and certified paratransit users should follow their usual reservation process. Trinity Metro Bikes also participate: entering VOTE26 in the bike app unlocks up to 30 minutes of ride time, provided a valid credit card is on file and the bike is docked within the time limit.

No Proof Required

Unlike many transportation programs, Trinity Metro does not ask for identification, proof of voting intent, or confirmation that a rider is traveling to a polling place. The agency simply asks riders to inform the driver or train conductor that they are heading to or from a voting location on Election Day to receive the free ride.

Support for the Community

Richard Andreski, Trinity Metro’s president and CEO, said, “Connecting people to the places that matter in their lives is what we do every day.” The free‑ride program aligns with the agency’s mission to serve the community and supports parents, seniors and church members who rely on public transit to exercise their civic duty.

Practical Information

The Customer Service Kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station is open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. For trip‑planning assistance, riders can call Trinity Metro at 817‑215‑8600. Texas’ early‑voting period runs from October 19 to October 30, as confirmed by the Secretary of State.

Previous Experience

Trinity Metro has offered similar voting‑transportation services in past elections, including the 2022 cycle, demonstrating a continued commitment to civic participation and community mobility.
