Despite the national gas average rising above $4, the Tri-State area is reporting prices below the national average. According to Triple A, the average price per gallon of gas in Ohio is $3.875, while Kentucky is reporting an average price of $3.664. Indiana, where Gov. Braun has extended a suspension of tax on gas through the end of July, is reporting a per-gallon price of $3.353, the lowest in the country.
National Gas Prices
The national gas average has risen due to increased oil prices, which have been affected by the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran. The price of oil has risen to $90 a barrel, nearly $20 higher than pre-war prices.
