The Tough Kookie Foundation kicked off its third annual Yellow Pedal Bike Ride on Saturday at Spring Lake Park in Texarkana, Texas. This event benefits childhood cancer patients and their families by providing assistance for their needs during this challenging time.

A $5,000 scholarship is also given to these children after they graduate from high school to spend as they choose. According to Logistics Board Member Joe Levingston, Jr., the foundation started by focusing on breast cancer but soon realized the need to help children battling cancer as well.
Levingston emphasized that many children in the Texarkana area are struggling with cancer, with about five children from each school being afflicted at any given time. Unfortunately, some of these children do not survive. The Tough Kookie Foundation aims to provide support to these families during their difficult journey.
