Tony Romo, a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current CBS football analyst, was arrested Thursday night in Milwaukee on suspicion of impaired driving, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
Details of the Arrest
Romo, 46, was pulled over on southbound Interstate 43 at about 6:18 p.m. and performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests. He was booked on one count of allegedly operating while intoxicated and released.
A spokesperson for the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office stated that the incident remains under investigation and criminal charges have not been filed. According to Wisconsin law, a first-time operating while intoxicated offense is considered a civil infraction.
Romo, a Burlington, Wisconsin native, was in town to play in the Wisconsin Amateur Championship, where he shot a four-round total of 319, good for a 73rd-place tie.
Representatives for Paramount, the parent company of CBS, and Creative Arts Agency (CAA), Romo’s listed media agency, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
