A family is suing a fitness club in El Segundo after their 23-month-old child was seriously injured when he was tossed in the air and dropped on the floor at the gym’s daycare.
Incident Details
The incident occurred last March at the Bay Club Clubhouse. According to the lawsuit, a daycare worker swung the child by the arms into the air, and the child struck his head on the hardwood floor before the worker landed on top of him.
The child’s parents claim the Bay Club lied to them about the severity of the injury and how the incident occurred. The family is demanding a jury trial and is suing the Bay Club for negligence, claiming the child suffered a traumatic brain injury.
The Bay Club responded to the lawsuit, stating that the safety of their members, team members, and the families they serve is their highest priority. However, the club did not confirm whether they are a licensed childcare facility.
