A tragic incident occurred in Hallandale Beach when a 2-year-old child was left inside a hot car and later pronounced dead. According to the Hallandale Beach police, they responded to a report about a child who had been left inside a vehicle while in the care of a babysitter.
The child was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately did not survive. The police have not released more information about the child or the babysitter, stating that the investigation is active.
The Hallandale Beach police used this opportunity to remind parents, guardians, and caregivers to always check the back seat before locking their vehicle and walking away, as temperatures inside a parked car can rise to dangerous levels within minutes.
This incident comes just a week after another child was found dead inside a car in Plantation. According to Kids and Car Safety, four children have died in Florida this year from being left in a hot car, bringing the total death count to 10 in the U.S.
