Oklahoma City Thunder fans came together at Thunder Hall on Sunday night to cheer for their team during Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. The event drew fans from across Oklahoma, many of whom dressed as their favorite players to show their support.
James Overton, a dedicated Thunder fan, expressed his excitement about the gathering. ‘We’re here just to hang out with friends, watch some great basketball, watch the Thunder bring it home for us,’ he said. The fans’ enthusiasm was palpable, with many expressing gratitude for the team’s partnerships with local businesses that allow them to support the Thunder even during away games.
Fassler Hall in Midtown has been transformed into ‘Thunder Hall’ for the playoffs, providing a venue for fans to unite and celebrate. Juli Jeon, another fan, highlighted the sense of community these gatherings foster. ‘We just want to support Thunder for the finals, and we’ve been here at Fassler every single game. So, it’s a tradition now. I think overall it brings a sense of community to Oklahoma,’ Jeon shared.
Among the fans were James and Alex Overton, who took their support a step further by dressing like their favorite Thunder player, Alex Caruso. ‘It has to be Alex Caruso. I mean, he’s my bald brethren,’ James Overton said, with Alex Overton adding, ‘And I like bald men.’
Despite the Thunder not winning the game, fans remain optimistic about the team’s chances to advance in the series. The Thunder will return to Oklahoma City on Tuesday for Game 5, and fans are hopeful for a victory.
