Texas Tech University has climbed higher in major global university rankings, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 best global universities rankings. The university rose six spots from last year, now ranking #562 out of 2,604 universities worldwide.

Texas Tech also moved ahead one spot in the national rankings, from #124 to #123. The university placed in the top 50 in three categories: agricultural sciences (33rd), plant and animal science (41st), and space science (48th).
