Isaias Jose Rodriguez-Manzanares, an illegal immigrant and self-admitted MS-13 gang member, was deported to Honduras on June 20 after serving a two-year prison sentence in Texas for felony possession of a controlled substance.
Background
Rodriguez-Manzanares first came to the attention of immigration officials in January 2024 following an arrest by the Irving Police Department for a liquor violation. He was not detained or removed by federal authorities at that time.
On June 16, 2025, he was arrested again, this time by the Colleyville Police Department, on charges of manufacturing or distributing a controlled substance and unlawfully carrying a semi-automatic rifle.
Upon completing his sentence, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice transferred Rodriguez-Manzanares to ICE custody on May 20. A Department of Justice immigration judge issued a final order of removal on June 2.
Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis praised the cooperation between Texas law enforcement and ICE, stating that this is what happens when state and local officials work together to remove public safety threats from communities.
