Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced an investigation into StubHub over allegations it failed to provide fans with 2026 FIFA World Cup tickets they purchased. According to Paxton, fans said StubHub canceled their tickets days or even hours before kickoff, citing ‘transfer problems’ tied to FIFA’s ticketing platform.

Investigation Details

Paxton stated that attending a World Cup match is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience and that his office will use every available tool to hold StubHub accountable and help fans who have been wronged. This investigation follows an earlier probe into FIFA over allegations the organization misled fans about seat locations for World Cup matches.

Texas residents who bought World Cup tickets through StubHub and did not receive them are advised to file a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.
