The Texarkana Airshow was a huge success, with approximately 11,000 spectators attending the all-day event at Texarkana Regional Airport on Saturday.
Aerial Entertainment
The show featured 18 performances, including various propeller planes and jets performing tight formations, loops, and low passes. Two vintage military planes were also set up for tours.
A highlight of the show was the Golden Knights, the official aerial demonstration team of the Army. The team parachuted into the airshow before a delighted crowd, with a contrail of red smoke from canisters attached to their ankles tracing designs in the air as they descended.
Ground Entertainment
On the ground, the entertainment included demonstrations of the speed and power of high-performance cars by Precision Exotics and a motorcycle parade.
Planning for the airshow started in 2024, and organizers have already begun making plans for the 2028 show. Lessons learned from Saturday’s show will factor into organizing the next event.
