Tennessee Lands Top Linebacker

Four-star linebacker Kenneth Simon II, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound player from Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee, has flipped his commitment from the University of Alabama to the University of Tennessee. Simon, ranked as the No. 139 overall player, the No. 10 linebacker, and the No. 6 player in Tennessee, originally committed to the Crimson Tide on May 11.

Family Ties

Simon is a Tennessee legacy, with his father, Kevin Simon, playing for the Volunteers from 2001 to 2005. The Washington Commanders drafted him in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL draft. Simon’s only official visit this cycle was to Alabama on May 29, but he last visited Tennessee on September 20, 2025.

Alabama now has eight commitments in the 2027 recruiting class after Simon’s decommitment, including five-star QB Elijah Haven and four-star QB Trent Seaborn.
