The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is taking proactive measures to ensure road safety by setting up sobriety checkpoints throughout the state of Tennessee during the month of June. This initiative aims to reduce impaired driving and prevent alcohol-related accidents, a concern for both urban and rural communities alike.
Troopers will be strategically positioned in various counties, including Shelby, Giles, Lawrence, and Maury, among others. These checkpoints are designed to remind drivers of the importance of road safety and the dangers of driving under the influence. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, designate a sober driver, and avoid getting behind the wheel if they have been drinking.
