Alejandro Mancera Canchola, a fugitive from Tennessee, was taken into custody by federal agents in Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 15, 2026. Canchola was wanted for attempted first-degree murder in connection with a violent assault on his girlfriend in LaFollette, Tennessee, in December 2024.
Assault and Manhunt
According to police reports, Canchola slashed his girlfriend’s throat from ear to ear, and the blade of the knife snapped off inside her neck. The victim managed to escape and was rushed to the hospital, where she underwent extensive surgeries and has since made a full recovery.
