A teenager who shot and killed 13-year-old Chris Carnero in Las Cruces will learn his punishment on Tuesday. The defendant, who has not been publicly identified due to his age, faces up to two years in a juvenile detention center.
According to Las Cruces police, the defendant shot Carnero on March 30. Carnero was later airlifted to an El Paso hospital.
The sentencing will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday with Judge Robert Lara.
