A teenage gunman went on a rampage at his high school in Thailand, killing at least six people, including three students and three teachers, and wounding over 20 others. The suspect, 14, allegedly killed his grandparents before storming the school with his grandfather’s semi-automatic rifle.
Shooting Details
The shooting occurred at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in the Bang Kruai district of Nonthaburi province, north of Bangkok. The youngest victim was just 12 years old. Terrified students huddled together under their desks, sobbing as gunshots rang out nearby.
Emergency workers rushed to the scene, administering first aid to students with wounds to their back, chest, and arms. The suspect remains in critical condition after shooting himself in the head.
Reaction and Investigation
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul expressed his sadness over the tragedy, saying, ‘This is horrible, it shouldn’t have happened.’ Authorities are investigating how the boy gained access to the weapon, as gun ownership is high in Thailand.
