A group of ten teenagers from Parma, Idaho, embarked on a camping trip to Payette National Forest in McCall, Idaho, over Memorial Day weekend. During their stay, they reported several encounters with what they believe were Sasquatches.
Initial Sightings and Strange Noises
The first sighting occurred on Friday night when one of the campers, Abi, saw a tall, dark figure near their tent but chose not to mention it immediately to avoid alarming the group. The weekend unfolded with more unusual experiences. On Saturday, a disagreement led Colton, one of the campers, to walk into the forest. Kyera, another camper, followed him and reported hearing footsteps and whistling, which she initially attributed to Colton.
Later that night, while sitting around the campfire, the group heard branches breaking and coyotes howling, which they dismissed as typical forest sounds. However, at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, they heard noises resembling someone trying to start a car, followed by rhythmic knocking, which they assumed was a woodpecker.
Close Encounters and Evidence
On Sunday, Daniel, one of the campers, encountered a 9-foot-tall creature with reflective eyes while using the bathroom. He and Colton, who had brought a rifle, attempted to track the creature, firing warning shots. They later reported being circled by three or more creatures, describing them as human-like but too tall and fast to be human. The group found handprints on vehicles and footprints around their camp, along with broken trees arranged in a peculiar manner.
Matthew Moneymaker, an investigator from The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, spoke with some of the witnesses and concluded that their accounts were truthful, though he acknowledged the possibility of misinterpretation. He noted that four of the campers had visual sightings, and the area has a history of Bigfoot activity.
