The Tampa Police Department is gearing up to host its 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration, a free, family-friendly gathering set for June 19, 2026, at the newly opened Fair Oaks Recreation Complex.

Community Event

The event will run from noon until 4:00 p.m. and feature local vendors and nonprofit organizations. The department will also hand out special recognitions during the event.

Organizers say the yearly Juneteenth celebration gives the police department a valuable chance to strengthen its relationship with the local community. The department’s Black History Committee, which has been active for decades, is behind the gathering.

The committee has focused on building rapport with residents through historical education, community events, and youth outreach, including awarding scholarships to high school students living in the city of Tampa.
