The City of Tampa announced that it will host a free community watch party on Friday, July 3, at The Sail Plaza, located outside the Tampa Convention Center.

The public event opens at 4 p.m., giving fans two hours to settle in before the Cape Verde and Argentina kick off at 6 p.m.
The city is adding four extra-large video screens across the plaza to expand the viewing space. Attendees can buy food and beverages directly from the venue.
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor highlighted the tournament’s cultural impact on the city ahead of the weekend game.
“The FIFA World Cup has an incredible way of bringing people together across cultures, languages, and borders,” Mayor Castor said. “We’re proud to host Cape Verde as they continue their remarkable World Cup journey, representing their nation on the world’s biggest stage.
This watch party is an opportunity for our community to come together, celebrate the game, and show why Tampa is such a welcoming place for fans from around the world.”
