A suspect involved in a deadly home invasion in a coastal Connecticut beach town was captured by U.S. Marshals in New York following a two-month investigation. Ivan Barias-Florimon, 24, was arrested in the Bronx after he was identified as the second suspect involved in the June 3 shooting death of Frederick Raymond Werner, 69.
Investigation and Arrests
Werner and his wife were shot inside their Milford, Connecticut home on June 3 after police say Barias-Florimon and another suspect, Stuar Lopez-Reyes, 25, broke into the couple’s home on East Broadway and began shooting at the victims. Werner’s wife was shot in the head and is still recovering in the hospital.
Barias-Florimon is facing charges and was arraigned in New York Criminal Court, where a judge ordered that he be remanded without bail. He is due back in court on August 18. Lopez-Reyes is being held in a Bridgeport, Connecticut, jail cell on a $3 million bond and is due to appear in court on August 11.
