Sugar Land Hospitals Announce Key Updates and Achievements

Sugar Land’s healthcare facilities are making significant advancements, ensuring better services for the community. Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital is preparing to celebrate its 20th anniversary this December, marking two decades of service since relocating from Fort Bend Hospital in 2006. Over the years, the hospital has expanded its facilities and services, including the opening of the Pediatric Emergency Department in 2018 and a $231 million expansion announced in 2022.

Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital

In April 2025, Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital welcomed Sarah Fleming as the new chief nursing officer. Fleming aims to enhance the hospital’s ANCC Magnet Program to attract and retain quality nursing staff, focusing on quality and safety initiatives and improving physician-nursing collaboration.

St. Luke’s Health-Sugar Land Hospital

St. Luke’s Health-Sugar Land Hospital has been designated as a primary stroke center by DNV, affirming its readiness to handle stroke-related illnesses. Interim Hospital President Freemon Walker emphasized the certification as a testament to their comprehensive approach to stroke care, combining advanced equipment and highly trained staff.

Kindred Hospital Sugar Land

Kindred Hospital Sugar Land has enhanced its outpatient wound care services, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and continues to focus on respiratory care and recovery. The hospital, a member of the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce, recently earned recertification in sepsis and respiratory failure care.
