Elvis Morris, a frequent buyer and seller of tickets on StubHub, purchased six Category 1 tickets to see Rüfüs Du Sol at the Adidas Arena in Paris. However, when the tickets arrived, Morris found that the seats were not where StubHub’s seating map had indicated Category 1 tickets would be.
Discrepancy in Seating Charts
Morris contacted StubHub and was initially told that he had received what he paid for: Category 1 seats. However, after further investigation, a StubHub representative explained that the Adidas Arena in Paris has three different seating charts, and Category 1 could mean different things within those charts.
Morris was told that StubHub or the arena may have put up the wrong seating chart, leading to the discrepancy. Morris eventually bought new seats in the area he wanted and expected StubHub to refund the first purchase. When the refund did not come, he contacted NBC 5 Responds, which reached out to StubHub on his behalf.
StubHub subsequently refunded Morris’ purchase and provided a 25% discount coupon. The company stated that it relies on event and venue seating configurations when displaying category-based inventory to fans and worked directly with Morris to resolve the issue.
Morris advises other ticket buyers to save screenshots of the listing, seating map, web address, and confirmation before finalizing a purchase to avoid similar issues.
