On Saturday, November 14, the Bus Barn at Cook’s Garage will host Cowboys & Courage, a benefit concert aimed at helping Lubbock children battling cancer. Texas country music star Stoney LaRue will headline the event, joined onstage by local performers Slade Coulter and Colton Mortensen. Doors open at 6 p.m.; the music begins at 7 p.m.
All Funds Remain Local
The concert is organized by the Lubbock Pediatric Cancer Association (LPCA) in partnership with J. Hoffman’s, Kendra Scott and local businesses. Every dollar raised stays in Lubbock, directly supporting LPCA’s mission to provide practical assistance to families facing pediatric cancer. The organization helps cover medication costs not covered by insurance, travel expenses for treatment, and technology that keeps hospitalized children connected to school.
More Than Just Music
In addition to the live performances, Cowboys & Courage will feature both silent and live auctions. Highlights include a special autographed guitar up for bid, a Charm Bar hosted by J. Hoffman’s and Kendra Scott, and a Piercing Party run by Liquid Ink. Attendees can enjoy a full evening of entertainment while contributing to a cause that matters to the community.
Community Businesses Rally Behind the Cause
Local companies are lending their support as sponsors and participants. Names such as Wilhoit Show Goats, Amarillo National Bank, Affordable Storage, University Medical Center, Dermatology Associates of West Texas, Winsupply, Texas Therapy Pros, ACS Computer, Bolton Oil Change, Synergy Home Care, People’s Bank, Hub City Digital Company, Choice Media and KLBK are all listed as contributors. Their involvement helps ensure the event’s success and amplifies the impact of each ticket sold, auction bid and sponsorship.
How LPCA Helps Families
Beyond financial assistance, LPCA provides toys, activities, special celebrations, scholarships, summer camps, family events, peer support and grief counseling. By addressing the many challenges that accompany a cancer diagnosis, the organization strives to make the journey a little less daunting for children and their loved ones.
Get Involved
Tickets are available in both general admission and VIP formats. Those who purchase a ticket not only enjoy a night of Texas country music and local camaraderie but also directly contribute to keeping vital resources in Lubbock. For more information and to buy tickets, visit the event’s official page.
When the final song fades, the money raised will stay right here in Lubbock, helping local kids and families who need a supportive hand during a difficult time. This is a prime example of how our community can come together to make a meaningful difference.
