A traffic stop in downtown Dallas led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle belonging to a Dallas College Police Department sergeant. The vehicle was found with a large amount of police-issued equipment, including a police badge, several police-issued shirts, roughly 500 rounds of duty ammunition, and multiple bulletproof vests.
Details of the Recovery
Central Business Division officers spotted a white Dodge Charger driving the wrong way on a one-way street with no headlights on. The driver was taken into custody on multiple traffic violations. An inventory search of the vehicle turned up the police-issued equipment, all of which carried the name of the registered owner, a sergeant with the Dallas College Police Department.
The driver was subsequently arrested on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in addition to the traffic violations. The recovered property was returned to the sergeant at the scene.
